The brain is the organ in our body responsible for processing sensory information, regulating blood pressure, and breathing. It also controls our thoughts, memory and speech, movement of the arms and legs, and the function of many organs within our body. It is very powerful that we need to use it every time and we tend to abuse it. That is why we need to clear our minds to use our brains.

Ways to clear our minds.
  1. Distraction.

The key to “optimal inattention” lies in occupying your mind with something else through distraction. This is based on the study conducted by The Journal of Neuroscience. When you are overwhelmed by your own thoughts, it’s time to think of something else. Distracting yourself gives you space and time to figure things out.

  • Mindfulness.

Whenever you bring awareness to what you’re directly experiencing via your senses, or to your state of mind via your thought and emotions, you are being mindful. There is also growing research showing that when you train your brain to be mindful, you are actually remodeling the physical structure of your brain. This is according to Mindful.org.  More studies also have found out that mindfulness may help in reducing rumination.

Practice mindfulness and train your brain to look at things objectively.

  • Write it down.

Writing helps the mind slow down and helps in structuring the thoughts in the brain. It is recommended to do the brain dump to have a smarter brain. The brain dump is an act of comprehensively and uncritically recording one’s thoughts and ideas. It is simply taking pen to paper and getting all your thoughts out.

LP planner helps you clear your mind by putting everything in the brain dump section. Dumping everything in your head to the planner makes it easy to visualize things and gives you a clearer view of your goals and specific steps you have to undertake.

Whenever you find yourself with so many thoughts and you want to concentrate on something and achieve your goal. Try these simple tricks and it will work wonders.

Sometimes you have to distract yourself to see things through. Remember that mindfulness is like a muscle, you have to exercise in order for it to gain strength. Finally, get a planner and write it down.
