All human brains have an emotional and logical side. This is why it is important to bridge the gap between emotional decisions and logical situations. Decision-making is an integral part of life. Every single time we make decisions. A totally emotional decision is very fast in comparison to a rational decision.

Decision-making solutions must address the emotional and rational elements of our being. Oftentimes, emotions overrule logic. Especially when we make decisions while feeling hungry, angry, lonely, or tired. This will likely push you in the wrong direction. Take it from Tony Robbins that says it is in the moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.

Recent research in the area of emotional decision-making has begun to expose the value, benefits, and difficulties that emotions present to the decision-making process. Emotions are possible signals from the subconscious that provide information about what we really choose. It may provide a way for coding and compacting experience, enabling fast response selection.

However, decisions that start with logic may need emotions to enable the final selection. Especially when confronted with near-equal options. Remember that problem recognition begins with awareness. It comes from being mindful of the self, circumstances, and logical projections of impending effects.

Consequently, it is important to be emotionally intelligent. Being emotionally intelligent enables a person to understand the impact that emotions can have on decision-making, they can be objective and avoid acting in a rash way when making a decision.
