It is the intentional and voluntary process by which one who may initially feel victimized, undergoes a change in feelings and attitude regarding a given offense, and overcomes negative emotions such as resentment and vengeance.
If we can forgive it will free us from a source of pain. This pain is not benefiting our need in any way but rather cause us harm emotionally and physically. Through forgiveness, you can learn the pathway to emotional freedom. If you forgive you can be at peace with those who offended you and yourself as well.
There is power in forgiveness. It is something that is a positive character trait, a positive character strength that people have, in which they do something that’s good. If you learn and practice forgiveness there will be a positive impact on you. This impact will carry over to all aspects of your life as opposed to being unforgiving. This has a negative impact on your life and might cost your physical and mental health.
