Why do normal children today, report more anxiety than ever before.  Studies show that normal children today report more anxiety than child psychiatric patients in the 1950’s. This was published by the American Psychological Association’s (APA) Journal of Personality and Social Psychology. Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension. Worrying thoughts and physical changes are some other characteristics.

Most people nowadays are suffering from moderate to high stress. But why is that? When we have almost all that we need, constant connectivity and the availability of almost every product for every problem. 

What causes these anxiety? 

Anxiety is inevitable, experiencing it occasionally is a normal part of life, However, if your worries are intense, excessive, and persistent, you might have an anxiety disorder. This is quite prevalent at present than they were decades ago.

The causes of anxiety disorders aren’t fully understood. Life experiences such as traumatic events appear to be the trigger. Anxiety disorders in people who are already prone to anxiety. Inherited traits also can be a factor.

We can observe that in recent days, people, especially young people rely more on social media and digital stuff. They’ve lost the real human connection. In this way, they become more worried about things that happen online and in turn increase their anxiety level.  Like when you feel terrible, you need to talk to someone, your friend, or a family member not go online and seek consolation in your Facebook.

Another reason for this increased anxiety is information overload. We can google almost everything and this is good but too much for something is not good enough. Consuming way too much information that our brain can handle. Fear is now used to motivate us. 

Our intolerant attitude towards negative feelings is another cause of this increased anxiety. We avoid situations that make us nervous. We try to bury uncomfortable feelings like anxiety and stress with alcohol or entertainment or shopping sprees.
