Never confuse a choice as an excuse. The choice is the act of selecting or making a decision when faced with two or more possibilities. Excuse, on the other hand, is a reason or explanation put forward to defend or justify a fault or offense. If you choose to do something otherwise do not use it as an excuse for not doing the thing that you ought to do.

But why do we make excuses? It’s like it has been such a natural rhythm in all of our lives. We make excuses to protect ourselves from our fears. To justify when we don’t commit to what we said we were going to do. We make excuses to avoid learning more about ourselves that might make us feel uncomfortable. The list goes on.

How do we avoid making excuses? Well, this is not a walk in the park because we know that old habits die hard. Oftentimes, excuse-making is done subconsciously thus breaking a habit requires a lot of effort. So, stop making excuses, make choices instead.

You have to make choices that align with your values, needs, and abilities. Really make a choice to live intentionally. Do not let fear rule over you that makes you create excuses. Make tough choices to really live intentionally and become a better version of yourself.

For this reason, you have to make a choice not makes excuses for the things that you know you ought to do. Choose to take action now and forget to make excuses. Then, you can live a more fulfilled and happy life.
