When we are learning, we need to learn with implementation in mind. What does it mean? Learning is the acquisition of knowledge. Knowledge is power. However, implementing what we learn is way more powerful.
With the advent of technology, learning something is so easy. You can watch videos, enroll in online courses, read blogs or listen to podcasts. But the challenge is, to implement what you’ve learned. To take action on the new pieces of information that we have acquired and apply it to our lives to become successful in whatever endeavor we choose to pursue.
Here are some tips to help you implement what you have learned.
1. Debrief and write it out.
We are a fan of writing this down. When you write the things that you’ve learned you can also formulate in your head how to implement them. Writing things down is the first step in taking action. Outline the steps that you need to implement the things that you learn.
2. Incorporate these in your calendar.
To ascertain that you will follow through with the things that you learn and truly take action. Put them into your calendar and allot time to really do it. Make sure to consider the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Results-focused, and Time-bound) goals in your action plan.
3.Focus on one thing at a time.
In implementing what you’ve learned you need to focus on one thing at a time. We get it you will get overwhelmed with all the tips and tricks that you’ve discovered and want to implement it all at once. It’s not going to work. You need to focus on one thing and master it before you can proceed with the next. In this way, you can maximize the impact of each action and can really assess if it really is working for you.
4. Be patient with yourself.
There is no overnight success. You have to keep doing the thing until you become good at it. Practice makes perfect. It takes time to learn something. That is why there is a learning curve. Some things you can easily get the hang of but there are things that would really take patience to learn. Just don’t give up and take your time. You will eventually learn it.
5. Take action!
All those steps above are useless if you do not really take action. Implement what you have learned in your life, in your business, or wherever you want to implement it. Just do it.
Implement what you have learned. Taking those action steps that you have written. Put them in your LP planner. Crushed those action items one by one. In no time you will see, you have achieved your goals and really implement what you have learned.
